Turn your tech network into side income, not another side job

A simple 10% referral program for senior sales and BD leaders who can spot premium product, design and engineering projects.

Mayven Studios is a product, design and engineering studio that helps SaaS, fintech, marketplaces and modern consumer brands ship serious work: headless commerce builds, complex web apps, and data products that leadership actually uses.

Projects are often low six figures and up, which makes even a single good intro meaningful side income.

Why we built this referral pilot

Slow quarters hit sales and BD people hardest. You still have the network, the context on who is planning big projects, and the trust – but you don't always have something simple you can plug in and monetize.

At the same time, Mayven wins best when we come in through trusted relationships, not cold outreach.

So we designed a very simple pilot:

You make warm intros

Into real product / data / platform opportunities

We handle everything

The full sales and delivery process

You earn 10%

Of the first contract value, paid as the client pays us

No side hustle to run. No decks to build. No pipeline to manage. Just quality intros into work we know how to deliver.

Who this is for (and not for)

Ideal for:

  • You get pulled into RFPs or large project conversations
  • You're active on LinkedIn / in sales communities
  • You like the idea of side income without running a "side business"

Not a fit if:

  • × You can't take any outside commissions due to employer agreements
  • × You mostly sell very small, one-off engagements with low budgets
  • × You're looking for a full affiliate infrastructure, landing pages, nurture flows etc. – this is intentionally lightweight.

What you'd be introducing

Mayven designs and builds:

Product Interfaces

Customer experiences that don't fall apart when traffic or complexity grows

Commerce Infrastructure

Headless and custom commerce for brands that have outgrown off-the-shelf setups

Data & Analytics

Layers that turn scattered data into clear dashboards leadership can act on

Good intro triggers usually sound like:

  • "We're planning a replatform / rebuild of our current product or storefront"
  • "Our in-house engineering team is maxed out on roadmap work, but we still need to ship X"
  • "We've got plenty of tools, but no clear product or data layer tying them together"

You don't have to sell this. You just need to recognize when someone is talking about this kind of work and be willing to introduce us.

How the referral pilot works (simple version)

1

Opt in

Fill out the short form below.

Confirm your employer allows outside commissions.

We send you:

  • • A one-pager with all program rules
  • • 2–4 Mayven case studies
  • • A copy-paste intro email you can send to prospects or clients
2

You make intros

Either:

  • • Send a warm intro email cc'ing us, or
  • • Use a simple intake form to drop in deal details and contact info

That's it. You're out of the loop unless you want to stay in touch.

3

We run the sales process

We qualify, scope and propose as usual

We keep you posted at key milestones so you know what's happening

4

You get paid as the client pays us

For each client payment on the first contract, you receive 10%

Finance triggers your payout on the same cadence we're paid

Commission structure and rules (full details)

Commission:

10% of the first contract value only for each qualified referral

Payout schedule:

Paid pro-rata with the client's payment schedule

Example: if a project is $100k, paid as 5 × $20k, you receive $2k each time we receive a $20k payment

Eligibility:

  • • You must be the originating source introducing the lead to Mayven
  • • "New lead" = not already in active conversations / proposals with us
  • • You confirm that your employer allows outside commissions

Qualifying deals:

  • • Any project size is eligible; we don't disqualify based on size upfront
  • • Work must close within the pilot window or as mutually agreed if the sales cycle is longer

Payment trigger:

We pay after we receive each client payment on the first contract. No payments are made on deals that do not close or that churn before paying

Term:

Initial pilot length: 90 days from your acceptance date

We may extend or adjust the terms based on results (you'll have the option to approve any changes)

Conflicts / multiple referrers:

If multiple people claim credit, it goes to the earliest documented introduction

Documentation is either the first email intro cc'ing us or the first form submission timestamp

Compliance:

You are responsible for ensuring this does not violate your employment agreement

We can provide simple language if you need to request written approval from your employer

What you get when you join

A simple way to turn high-quality opportunities in your network into side income
A clean 10% commission on the first contract, aligned with client payments
A copy-paste intro email you can use to introduce Mayven without selling
A case study pack (selected examples matched to your network: SaaS, fintech, marketplaces, etc.)
Light-touch status updates on deals you've introduced
A direct line to the Mayven team if you want to strategize on specific accounts

Concrete examples of good referrals

A VP of Product at a Seed–Series C SaaS company who wants to rebuild their core app UI and clean up technical debt

A Head of Growth at a marketplace planning a replatform of their storefront or seller portal

A founder about to invest in a data layer so leadership can finally see revenue, activation and retention metrics in one place

A brand CMO whose current dev shop can't keep up with the complexity or pace of what they want to ship

If you're already hearing these conversations, the hard part is done. The rest is a warm intro and letting us take it from there.

FAQ

Do I have to join sales calls or handle negotiations?

No. Your job is to make the intro. From there, Mayven handles qualification, scoping, proposals and delivery. You can stay in the loop if you want, but it's not required.

What if my employer has a policy about outside work or commissions?

Before we pay anything, you confirm that you're allowed to receive external commissions. If needed, we can give you a short explanation you can share internally when asking for approval.

How many intros do you expect from me?

There's no minimum. Some referrers will make one high-quality intro in a quarter; others will make several. One good fit can still be very meaningful.

What if I introduce someone you already know?

If they're already in an active sales process with us, we won't treat it as a new referral. If they're not, and your intro clearly moves things forward, we'll attribute it to you.

How will I know what's happening with my referrals?

We'll send short updates at key milestones (qualified, proposal sent, won / lost). No long reports, just enough to know where things stand.

What happens after the 90-day pilot?

We'll look at performance with you and decide whether to extend, adjust the commission structure, or keep it as-is. Any deals originated during the pilot keep their agreed terms.

Interested in being one of the first referrers?

We're keeping this initial group small so we can stay close to the process.
